Why are the Japanese rubbing wasabi in their hair?

Wasabi seems to be the new wonder condiment for some much-needed hair peace.

Hair loss has plagued both men and women for decades, but the search for an effective treatment may be over. Japanese scientists recently discovered that the leaves of the wasabi plant contain an ingredient that can stimulate hair cells — with potentially three times the benefit of commercially-available hair growth solutions1.

Finding new uses for the wasabi plant exemplifies the Japanese spirit of kaizen (continuous improvement) which lives on today. Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe has been reducing Japan’s corporate tax rate since he took office in 2012. More recently, he approved measures to lower the corporate tax rate for companies that raise wages or invest in new technologies2.

Just like the Japanese Spirit of Kaizen, Eastspring Investments is continuously improvising the performance of our products and services. Find out more about Eastspring Investments funds here .
