Fund Valuer - Deutsche Trustees Malaysia Berhad (Company No. 763590-H) ("DTMB")

DTMB has been appointed to carry out the fund accounting and valuation services for the Funds. DTMB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the parent organisation, Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft. DTMB was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 February 2007 and commenced business in May 2007.

DTMB is part of Deutsche Bank’s Securities Services, which provides trustee and fund accounting and valuation services. DTMB expanded its product offering to include fund accounting and valuation services in 2018.

Its duties include, amongst others, performing valuation of the investments and the Funds and maintaining financial accounting records of portfolios including all transactions data, records and investment ledgers.

In providing the above services, DTMB will be supported by Deutsche Investor Services Private Limited (“DISPL”) in India, a 100% Deutsche Bank owned legal subsidiary in the processing of daily fund administration transactions.

Roles and duties of the fund valuer

Eastspring Investments Berhad (“Manager”) has appointed DTMB as the fund valuer for the funds. The fund valuer is responsible for the computation of the Net Asset Value (“NAV”) of the funds in accordance with the requirements of the prospectus of the funds and the Deed. The fund valuer will report to the Manager at the end of each business day on the NAV of the funds including the daily purchases and sales transactions, and stock holding report. The report will be sent to the Manager via fax, email and/or other method as agreed by both parties.

DTMB will undertake the accounting and valuation function for the funds by way of a service level agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, DTMB will maintain proper accounts; carry out daily valuation and pricing and sending the unit prices for publication in the newspaper.

Registrar and Transfer Agent - KFin Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd

KFin Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“KFin”) (registration number 1178655 – U), was incorporated in Malaysia on 8 March 2016 and commenced business on 25 April 2016. KFin is registered as a private limited company to provide registrar and transfer agency services to asset management or investment management companies, with its business address at Suite 16.1, Level 16, Menara IMC, No. 8 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.

Roles and duties of the registrar and transfer agent

Eastspring Investments Berhad has appointed KFin as the registrar and transfer agent for the funds. KFin’s roles and duties include maintaining the register of unit holders, transaction processing, reconciliation and preparing relevant communication to investors. Certain processes for the abovementioned duties are further sub-delegated to KFin’s affiliate entity, Karvy Computershare Private Limited (“KCPL”) in India.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Services - Tech Mahindra ICT Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ("Tech Mahindra")

Eastspring Investments Berhad has appointed Tech Mahindra to provide end-to-end IT solutions, covering ICT, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Business Service Group (BSG). Tech Mahindra was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 October 2013 and is part of an Indian multinational technology company, providing information technology and business process outsourcing services. In turn, the company is a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, headquartered in Pune and has its registered office in Mumbai. Tech Mahindra is a MSC Status company providing ICT services in Malaysia operating from their State of the Art IT Services campus.

Shariah Adviser- BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd (“BIMB”)

BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd has been appointed as the Shariah adviser for Eastspring Dana al-Ilham, Eastspring Dana al-Islah, Eastspring Dana Dinamik, Eastspring Islamic Income Fund, Eastspring Dinasti Equity Fund, Eastspring Islamic Small-cap Fund, Eastspring Islamic Equity Income Fund, Eastspring Wholesale Sukuk Fund, Eastspring Wholesale Sukuk Extra Fund and Eastspring Islamic China A-Shares Fund (“the Funds”). BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd will provide Shariah advisory services on the mechanism of the operations of the Funds to ensure the operations of the Funds comply with Shariah requirements as stipulated by the SC.


BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is a stockbroking subsidiary of BIMB Holdings Bhd incorporated on 21 February 1994 licensed by the SC. The corporate mission of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is to be an active participant in a modern, innovative and dynamic Islamic capital market in Malaysia, catering for the needs of all investors, Muslims and non-Muslims, looking for Shariah-compliant investment products and services.


BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is registered with the SC to act as a Shariah adviser for Islamic products and services regulated by the SC, which include Islamic collective investment schemes. BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is independent from the Manager and does not hold office as a member of the investment committee of the Funds or any other funds managed and administered by the Manager. As at 30 June 2020, BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is a corporate Shariah adviser to eighty (80) Islamic funds including one (1) Islamic real estate investment trust (REIT).


As the Shariah adviser, the role of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is to ensure that the investment operations and processes of the Funds are in compliance with Shariah requirements. BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd will review the Funds’ investments on a monthly basis to ensure Shariah compliance and it also reviews the interim and annual reports of the Funds.

Notwithstanding the role played by the Shariah adviser, the ultimate responsibility for ensuring Shariah compliance of the Funds in all aspects of operations and processes rests solely with the Manager.

In line with the SC’s guidelines, the roles of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd as the Shariah adviser are: advise on the Shariah aspects of the Funds and Funds operations and processes such that they are in accordance with Shariah requirements, and specifically the resolutions issued by the SAC of the SC; provide Shariah expertise and guidance in all matters related to the Funds, particularly on the Funds’ deed and prospectus, structure, investments and related operational matters; ensure that the Funds are managed and operated in accordance with Shariah as determined by the relevant SC regulations and standards, including resolutions issued by the SAC of the SC; review the Funds’ compliance reports as provided by the Manager’s compliance officer, and investment transaction reports provided or duly approved by the Trustee to ensure that the Funds’ investments are in line with Shariah requirements; issue a report for inclusion in the interim and annual reports of the Funds stating the Shariah adviser’s opinion on the Funds’ compliance with Shariah requirements in its investment, operations and processes for the financial period concerned; consult the SC where there is ambiguity or uncertainty as to an investment, instrument, system, procedure and/or process; and meet with the Manager beside on a semi-annually basis, when urgently required for review of the Funds’ operations and processes.


Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad bin Abdullah (“Dr. Muhamad Fuad”)

Dr. Muhamad Fuad, the designated person in-charge of all Shariah matters in BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd is also appointed to the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd effective 1 June 2011.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977 and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982, both from the University of Southampton, England. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Jayyid) Degree in Shariah from the University of Jordan in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Muslim Civilization from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1996.

He is a registered Shariah adviser (2019-2022) with the SC and is a member of the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd. He sits on the Shariah committees of Public Islamic Bank Berhad and AIA-Public Takaful Berhad.

He is the non-executive chairman of Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad and a board member of Universiti Tun Abd Razak Sdn Bhd (“UniRAZAK”).

He is the president of the Association of Shariah Advisers for Islamic Finance (“ASAS”) and was an executive committee member of ASAS from its inception in 2012 until 2018.

Dr. Muhamad Fuad is a recipient of the National Book Award 2015 for his book published by IKIM entitled "The Influence of Islam Upon Classical Arabic Scientific Writings: An Examination of the Extent of Their Reference to Quran, Hadith and Related Texts”.

Nurussaádah binti Nasarudin (“Nurussaádah”)

Nurussaádah joined BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd in June 2015 as the Shariah executive and has been promoted as the head of Shariah section effective 1 May 2021. She is also the designated Shariah officer registered under the BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd’s Shariah adviser registration, responsible for the Shariah advisory services offered by BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd.

Nurussaádah graduated with a Bachelor of Shariah majoring in Islamic Banking and Economics from the University of Yarmouk, Jordan.

Currently, she is responsible in providing Shariah inputs on the advisory, consultancy and research functions with regards to Islamic capital market and Islamic collective investment schemes, including but not limited to, conducting surveillance on the non-financial institution activities.

She is experienced in product development and review for Islamic capital market products specifically on Islamic stockbroking services.
