Fund Valuer - Deutsche Trustees Malaysia Berhad (Company No. 763590-H) ("DTMB")

DTMB has been appointed to carry out the fund accounting and valuation services for the Funds. DTMB is a wholly-owned subsidiary of the parent organisation, Deutsche Bank Aktiengesellschaft. DTMB was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 February 2007 and commenced business in May 2007.

DTMB is part of Deutsche Bank’s Securities Services, which provides trustee and fund accounting and valuation services. DTMB expanded its product offering to include fund accounting and valuation services in 2018.

Its duties include, amongst others, performing valuation of the investments and the Funds and maintaining financial accounting records of portfolios including all transactions data, records and investment ledgers.

In providing the above services, DTMB will be supported by Deutsche Investor Services Private Limited (“DISPL”) in India, a 100% Deutsche Bank owned legal subsidiary in the processing of daily fund administration transactions.

Roles and duties of the fund valuer

Eastspring Investments Berhad (“Manager”) has appointed DTMB as the fund valuer for the funds. The fund valuer is responsible for the computation of the Net Asset Value (“NAV”) of the funds in accordance with the requirements of the prospectus of the funds and the Deed. The fund valuer will report to the Manager at the end of each business day on the NAV of the funds including the daily purchases and sales transactions, and stock holding report. The report will be sent to the Manager via fax, email and/or other method as agreed by both parties.

DTMB will undertake the accounting and valuation function for the funds by way of a service level agreement. Under the terms of the agreement, DTMB will maintain proper accounts; carry out daily valuation and pricing and sending the unit prices for publication in the newspaper.

Registrar and Transfer Agent - KFin Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd

KFin Technologies (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd. (“KFin”) (registration number 1178655 – U), was incorporated in Malaysia on 8 March 2016 and commenced business on 25 April 2016. KFin is registered as a private limited company to provide registrar and transfer agency services to asset management or investment management companies, with its business address at Suite 16.1, Level 16, Menara IMC, No. 8 Jalan Sultan Ismail, 50250 Kuala Lumpur.

Roles and duties of the registrar and transfer agent

Eastspring Investments Berhad has appointed KFin as the registrar and transfer agent for the funds. KFin’s roles and duties include maintaining the register of unit holders, transaction processing, reconciliation and preparing relevant communication to investors. Certain processes for the abovementioned duties are further sub-delegated to KFin’s affiliate entity, Karvy Computershare Private Limited (“KCPL”) in India.

Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Services - Tech Mahindra ICT Services (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd ("Tech Mahindra")

Eastspring Investments Berhad has appointed Tech Mahindra to provide end-to-end IT solutions, covering ICT, IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) and Business Service Group (BSG). Tech Mahindra was incorporated in Malaysia on 22 October 2013 and is part of an Indian multinational technology company, providing information technology and business process outsourcing services. In turn, the company is a subsidiary of the Mahindra Group, headquartered in Pune and has its registered office in Mumbai. Tech Mahindra is a MSC Status company providing ICT services in Malaysia operating from their State of the Art IT Services campus.

Shariah Adviser- BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd (“BIMB”)

BIMB Securities Sdn Bhd (“BIMB Securities”) has been appointed as the Shariah Adviser for Eastspring Investments Dana al-Ilham, Eastspring Investments Dana al-Islah, Eastspring Investments Dana Dinamik, Eastspring Investments Islamic Income Fund, Eastspring Investments Dinasti Equity Fund, Eastspring Investments Islamic Small-Cap Fund, Eastspring Investments Islamic Equity Income Fund, Eastspring Investments Wholesale Sukuk Fund, Eastspring Investments Wholesale Sukuk Extra Fund and Eastspring Investments Islamic China A-Shares Fund (“the Funds”). BIMB Securities will provide Shariah advisory services on the management and operations of the Funds to ensure the operations of the Funds comply with Shariah requirements.

BIMB Securities is a stockbroking subsidiary of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad incorporated on 21 February 1994 and is licensed by the Securities Commission Malaysia (“SC”). The corporate mission of BIMB Securities is to be an active participant in a modern, innovative and dynamic Islamic capital market in Malaysia, catering for the needs of all investors, Muslims and non-Muslims, looking for Shariah-compliant investment products and services.

BIMB Securities is registered with the SC to act as a Shariah Adviser for Islamic products and services regulated by the SC, which include Islamic collective investment schemes. BIMB Securities is independent from the Manager and does not hold office as a member of the committee undertaking the oversight function of the Funds or any other funds managed and administered by the Manager. As at 1 July 2023, BIMB Securities is a corporate Shariah Adviser to 99 Islamic funds including two (2) Islamic real estate investment trusts.

PROFILES OF THE SHARIAH PERSONNEL

Ir. Dr. Muhamad Fuad bin Abdullah (“Dr. Muhamad Fuad”)

Dr. Muhamad Fuad is the designated person in-charge of all Shariah matters in BIMB Securities.

He graduated with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1977 and a Master of Philosophy Degree in Electrical Engineering in 1982, both from the University of Southampton, England. He also obtained a Bachelor of Arts (Jayyid) Degree in Shariah from the University of Jordan in 1994 and a Doctor of Philosophy in Muslim Civilization from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland in 1996.

He is a registered individual Shariah adviser with the SC. He is the Chairman of the Shariah Supervisory Council of Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad. He sits on the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities and the Shariah Committee of AIA-Public Takaful Berhad.

He is also the non-executive chairman of Gagasan Nadi Cergas Berhad and a board member of Universiti Tun Abd Razak Sdn Bhd (UniRAZAK).

Nurul Aqila Sufiyah binti Lokman (“Nurul Aqila”)

Nurul Aqila joined BIMB Securities as the Shariah Executive in March 2020. She was later promoted as the Acting Head of Shariah Section effective 1st April 2023. She is also the Joint Secretary of the Shariah Advisory Committee of BIMB Securities.

Nurul Aqila holds a Bachelor of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Heritage in Fiqh and Usul al-Fiqh from the International Islamic University of Malaysia.

Currently, she is assisting in providing Shariah inputs for the advisory, consultancy and research functions relating to the Islamic capital market products including Islamic collective investment schemes.
