Faizal Gaffoor

Faizal Gaffoor is Deputy Regional CEO and Head of Products & Partnerships at Eastspring Investments. Based in Singapore, he has management responsibilities for the firm’s Indonesia, Malaysia and Vietnam markets. He also leads the business relationship management with Prudential Life.

Faizal has over 25 years of Asset Management experience and a strong track record in driving business performance across both institutional and intermediary businesses regionally. Prior to joining Eastspring, he served as Managing Director and Group Chief Marketing Officer at UOB Asset Management (UOBAM), where he headed up the Retail, Institutional and Digital Sales teams, and had led business development, product and marketing initiatives. He was also instrumental in expanding UOBAM’s regional expansion into Brunei, Japan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia and Thailand, including the formation of strategic alliances with key third-party fund managers. He held directorships and was a member of various UOBAM and UOB governance committees in the region. Faizal started his career at Citibank in the investment products and distribution team.

Faizal holds a degree in Mathematics and Economics from the National University of Singapore

Phuong Tien Minh

Member

Mr. Phuong Tien Minh is Chief Executive Officer of Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited.

Minh is no stranger to Prudential Vietnam, having held leadership roles at the company between 2016 and 2018. As Chief Distribution Officer and Chief Marketing Officer, he developed new marketing channels for the business, led efforts to transform and digitalise its agency distribution and tapped the fast-growing urban customer segment.

Before taking up his current role in Prudential Vietnam, Minh was at HSBC, where he built the bank’s retail banking business as the first country head of Retail Banking & Wealth Management in Vietnam. He had also headed business development, product development and customer acquisition efforts in various leadership roles for a decade at the bank, from 2005 to 2015.

Ngo The Trieu

Chief Executive Officer

Trieu is Chief Executive Officer (CEO) cum Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). He is responsible for all activities including the management, investment activities and business development of Eastspring Vietnam with total assets under management of more than USD 6.16 billion value (as at Dec 2022).

Trieu has more than 23 year experience in financial and investment, in which Trieu has more than 16 years with Eastspring Vietnam. At Eastspring Vietnam, Trieu has been in charge of the Equity and Fixed Income investment since 2010, and was CIO from 2015.

Previously, Trieu has served for Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited from 2002 to 2006 as an Actuary. Before that time, Trieu worked for Arthur Andersen Auditing firm in Vietnam and Vietnam Eximbank.

He holds a Master’s degree in International Project Management from Skema Business School in France, an MBA from Center of French-Vietnamese Management Institution (CFVG), a BA in Corporate Finance from HCMC University of Economics and a BA in Foreign Economics from Vietnam Foreign Trade University. Trieu is a CFA charterholder and holds the Fund Management Practice License issued by State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Tran Thap Kieu Quan

Director, Head of Fixed Income

Quan is the Head of Fixed Income as well as a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). Quan is responsible to manage all fixed income portfolios in Eastspring Vietnam.  

Prior to joining Eastspring Vietnam in 2006, Quan worked at Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited with various roles from 2000 to 2006. Previously, she was an employee of Techcombank Ho Chi Minh City Branch.

Quan holds a MBA from University of Hawai’i, U.S.A. and Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Banking from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. Quan is a CFA charterholder and obtains the Asset Management Practice License issued by State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Le Hoang Vu

Head of Investment Solutions

Vu is Head of Investment Solutions of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam) where he is responsible for multi asset investment solutions for clients in Vietnam. Since joining Eastspring Vietnam, Vu has built a disciplined investment process, combining proven practices and a strong performance of related investment portfolios.

Vu joined investment team of Eastspring Vietnam in 2008 and was promoted to Head of Equity in 2018. In early 2021, he was transferred to lead EPA team in Vietnam. Prior to that, he worked for Standard Charted Bank Vietnam and Unilever Vietnam with main roles in commercial banking, internal auditing, corporate finance, financial and management accounting.

Vu earned his B.A in accounting and auditing from University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City. He is qualified for the Fund Management Practitioner License from The State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Tran Trong Phuong Thao

Head of HR and Admin

Thao is Head of HR and Administration of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). She is responsible for overseeing the full range of lifecycle tasks including but not limited to, hiring and retaining staff, orientation for new employees, compensation, performance reviews, and benefits administration, employee relations and supervise a team of professional admin supports.

Before being appointed in this role in 2011, she held various HR and Office Administration roles since joining Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited in 2004 and was transferred to Eastspring Vietnam at the time of its establishment in 2005.

Prior to joining Eastspring Vietnam, Thao spent 9 years in Office Administration roles at ILA Vietnam and Thakral Brothers Singapore (Pte) Ltd. in Ho Chi Minh City.

Thao earns a Bachelor degree in Business Administration at Open University Ho Chi Minh City and in English at University of Social Sciences & Humanities, Ho Chi Minh City.

Le Minh Thuy

Head of Finance and Strategy

Thuy is Head of Finance and Strategy of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). She is Chief Accountant and responsible for accounting and finance. She also supports the CEO with strategy planning and execution.

Before being appointed to this position in July 2016, Thuy was Private Equity Investment Manager from June 2010 to December 2012 and Compliance Manager from November 2013 to June 2016.

Prior to joining Eastspring Vietnam, Thuy worked as an external auditor at Andersen and KPMG from 2001 to 2007, a financial consultant at Mekong Capital from 2007 to 2009 and a director at Capstone Financial Advisory from 2009 to 2010.

Thuy holds a Bachelor of Banking and Finance from Hanoi National Economics University and is a Certified Public Accountant recognized by Ministry of Finance of Vietnam (CPA Vietnam). She is also a fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA), a fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA, Aust.) and a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) of The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).

Le Thi Thuy Phuong

Head of Operations and Performance Analytics

Phuong is the Head of Operations and Performance Analytics of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). Phuong is responsible for Operations, Performance Analytics & Information Technology of Eastspring Vietnam.

Prior to joining Eastspring Vietnam in 2006, Phuong worked at Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited with various roles from 2002 to 2006.

Phuong holds a Bachelor’s degree in Insurance from the University of Economics Ho Chi Minh City and Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology of University of Science and obtains the Asset Management Practice License issued by State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Nguyen Cong Thi Kieu Chinh

Head of Dealing

Chinh is Head of Dealing of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). She is responsible for trading activities in Equity, Fixed Income and Term Deposits. In her role, she liaises with Fund Managers for daily trading activities and executions as well as assists to develop trading technique, programs and policies.

Chinh joined Prudential Vietnam Assurance Private Limited in 2002 with various roles from 2002 to 2004 and was moved to Eastspring Vietnam since 2005.

Over 16 years working in financial services Chinh brings with her a wealth experience in regional best execution, systematic trading, compliance & risk management.

Chinh holds a BA in Science from Science, Social and Humanity University of HCMC and obtains the Asset Management Practice License issued by State Securities Commission of Vietnam.

Ho Thi The Van

Head of Business Development

Van is Head of Business Development of Eastspring Investments Fund Management Limited Liability Company (Eastspring Vietnam). She is responsible for driving business development activities at Eastspring Vietnam.

Prior to joining Eastspring Vietnam in 2021, Van was Head of Wealth Management at VinaCapital from May 2019 to July 2021. Previously, she worked at ACB Bank, ANZ Bank and Sacombank with various senior roles in Priority Banking and Asset Management from May 2011 to April 2019. Before coming back to Vietnam, she had 3 years of working experience at Natixis Bank Research Center and Acofi Asset Management in France.

Van earns her Master in Business Management from University of René Descartes Paris V, France; a Master in Finance, Asset Management and Trading from Business School INSSEC, Paris, France; a Bachelor in Business Administration from University of Dauphine Paris IX, France. Van is a CFA charterholder.
