Key Management Staff

Anouk Hanafiah

Chief Executive Officer

Anouk brings with her over 23 years of industry experience within the conventional and Shariah space. She joins us from Penjana Kapital where she was involved in the deployment of the Dana Penjana Nasional fund-of-funds program.

Prior to Penjana Kapital, she was attached with Fortress Capital Asset Managers as Investment Director responsible for structuring and managing wholesale global mixed asset funds for accredited investors. She was the Head of Investment with VCAP Asset Managers overseeing the management of equities and fixed income funds consisting of private mandates and wholesale funds. Prior to joining VCAP Asset Managers, Anouk served as Senior Portfolio Manager at i-VCAP Management, a Shariah asset management company. She was also a part of the core team that was involved in the structuring and listing of the largest Shariah ETF in the world and the first Malaysian wholesale ESG fund.

Anouk graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Missouri, Kansas City.

Zainatul Shahila

Senior Risk Manager

Zainatul is responsible for managing effective framework and controls in the areas of operational risk management for Eastspring Al-Wara’ Investments Berhad.

She joined the Prudential Group in May 2007. She worked previously for CIMB Bank, Ambank Berhad and Standard Chartered Bank Berhad which gave her extensive experience in financial planning, investment and wealth management products.

She holds an MBA (Finance) from University of Hull, UK and Bachelor of Law from University of Bristol, UK.

Tan Ming Han

Head of Investments

Prior to joining Eastspring Al-Wara’ Investments, Ming Han was Associate Director in Amundi Malaysia Sdn Bhd where he managed regional and domestic equity portfolios for institutional clients from June 2012 to October 2018. Ming Han has past investment experience in the industry including Meridian, HwangDBS Investment Management and Philip Capital Management where he also managed both local and regional unit trust funds and discretionary mandates. He has long/short equity experience from his working stint as a hedge fund manager in Singapore in 2010. He started his career in corporate finance and brings with him more than 18 years of investment industry experience.

Ming Han holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree majoring in Corporate Finance and International Business from the University of Adelaide, Australia.

Wendy Lim

Chairman, Non-Executive Director

Wendy Lim joined Eastspring Investments, the asset management business of Prudential plc, as Regional Chief Executive for Southeast Asia, in November 2021. As Regional Chief Executive, she has overall management responsibilities for the Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Indonesia and Vietnam businesses. Functionally, Wendy leads the Retail business globally, including intermediary sales and digital strategy, and oversees Marketing & Communications. Wendy is responsible for the Prudential Life business relationship management which ensures close collaboration in building an integrated wealth capability. Wendy is a member of the Executive Management Committee.

Prior to joining Eastspring, Wendy was CEO Singapore & Regional Head of High-Net-Worth Segment, Asia, for Manulife Investment Management. She was also a member of the Wealth & Asset Management Executive Committee for Asia and an Executive Director of the Manulife Investment Management Singapore board.

Wendy has close to 30 years of experience in retail banking, wealth and asset management in Asia. Before joining Manulife Investment Management, she held various senior-level positions at BNY Mellon Investment Management, the Australia and New Zealand Banking Group, the Royal Bank of Scotland, HSBC and Citibank.

Wendy holds an MBA and Bachelor of Science in Marketing and Business Administration from Indiana State University.

J. Campbell Tupling

Independent Director, Non-Executive Director

J. Campbell Tupling was appointed as an Independent Director of Eastspring Investments Berhad on 15 August 2019. He was formerly the Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer of CIMB Principal Asset Management from 2008 to 2013. He is currently the South East Asia dealer for Caterham Cars and is focused on motorsports opportunities.

A Canadian, Tupling started his expatriate career in 1982 and worked for large finance multinationals in South America, Europe, the USA and Asia. His roles included audit, finance, CEO and regional positions.

In Malaysia he served as an elected member the board of the Federation of Investment Managers Malaysia from 2011 to 2013 and was involved in the creation of the Private Pension Schemes. He also is currently the Vice Chair of the Board of Governors of a major international school.

Raymond Tang Chee Kin

Non-independent, Non-Executive Director

Raymond is chief executive officer and also sits on the Board of Directors of Eastspring Investment Berhad. As CEO, he is responsible for the growth strategy of the business in Malaysia as well as overseeing local investment performance.

He brings with him over 30 years of industry experience and has worked for nearly 20 years in senior positions in the asset management industry including Head of International and Institutional Business and Chief Investment Officer, Asean Region for CIMB-Principal Asset Management Berhad. Previously, he was the Executive Director and Chief Investment Officer at CMS Dresdner Asset Management Sdn Bhd. He also worked as a fund manager at SBB Asset Management Sdn Bhd and Investment Executive at CIMB Securities Sdn Bhd, and commenced his career in the investment industry at RHB Asset Management Sdn Bhd.

He is the Committee Member of the Malaysian Association of Asset Managers (MAAM) and was the Chairman from 2008 to 2022. He represents Eastspring in the Institutional Investors Council, a body comprising major asset owners in Malaysia.

He is also a member of the following regulatory Committees:
  • FTSE Bursa Malaysia Index Advisory Committee.
  • Bursa Malaysia Listing Committee
  • Financial Markets Committee (FMC) in Bank Negara Malaysia
  • FMC Subcommittee on Bond Markets
  • Securities Commission Steering Committee on Fund Management Digitization Group, chairing the Services Workgroup

  • He was a founding Director in SIDREC, an industry dispute resolution body from Dec 2010 until April 2020.

    He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants of England, and he obtained his Capital Markets Services Representative’s License in 1997 from the Securities Commission Malaysia.
